The Army is planning to break the modernized AFATDS system into three applications or microservices.

The program is back on track to getting competitive prototypes flying by 2024, moving the Army closer to a more modern aircraft fleet.

The program will soon be transitioning to its detailed design and prototype phases, and the Army has issued a new solicitation.
